EXIT MONITORING
How do you stop linen leaving through the door?
By recording what passes the door, then reporting it per door and per hour so the pattern is visible. IntelTagRFID is a UHF-RFID textile tracking and laundry reconciliation platform whose doorway readers log every tagged item crossing a monitored exit. An item whose last recorded scan was an exit point has left the building at a known time through a known door — which is a specific, actionable finding rather than a monthly shortfall.
What a monitored exit records
Doorway readers log each tagged item that passes, without anyone stopping or opening anything. Reporting breaks the result down per door, per hour and per item type, with age buckets and an exit timeline. For garments, the item is attributed to the wearer it was still assigned to. Exit Monitor hardware is specified at ten exits per controller, so door count is one of the inputs to a quotation.
Pattern beats incident
A single item leaving tells you very little. The same item type leaving through the same door in the same hour band, week after week, tells you where to look and when. One casino and entertainment property receives a daily exit workbook with per-door, per-hour and per-item-type cross-tabs for exactly this reason: the value is in the cross-tab, not the individual read.
Theatre scrubs and clinical garments
In a hospital setting, exit-monitor readers on monitored doors record every tagged garment whose last action was an exit scan, giving the last known location before loss. A daily automated report breaks leakage down per door and per month, with dedicated theatre-scrub views, so loss-management staff see which doors clinical garments are leaving through rather than only that the count is short.
What exit data does not tell you
Exit monitoring explains loss through monitored doors. It does not account for stock lost on the transit leg between site and laundry, which is a reconciliation question, nor for stock that is simply not where it should be, which is a stock-aging question. Reporting all three separately is what makes each one addressable.
Common questions
Yes. Doorway exit-monitor readers record every tagged item that passes, with reporting by item, item type and exit point, plus age buckets and an exit timeline.
No. It records the passage. The control it enables is evidence of pattern — which door, which hour, which item type, and for garments which wearer — rather than physical interception.
For garments it attributes the item to the wearer it was still assigned to at the time. Linen has no wearer, so the finding there is the door, the hour and the item type.
Exit Monitor stations are specified at ten exits per controller, which is one of the inputs to a station-based quotation.
Yes. The loss-management report is a scheduled job that regenerates the multi-tab exit and loss workbook and emails it daily with a summary of total tracked items, the top-leakage door and the scrub count.
It is enabled per site profile, because it depends on readers being installed at the doors that matter for that operation.
